National Athletic Training Month: AG Athletic Trainers Navigate Unprecedented Season
March is National Athletic Training Month and what a perfect time to honor our outstanding athletic trainers, Ascension Seton’s finest Colby Thompson and Kyle Lucas.
National Athletic Training Month is a campaign to spread awareness about the important work of athletic trainers. Our trainers are making the athletic training community proud and have never been more crucial to sports than this very season.
These humble caretakers have a seemingly boundless dedication to bettering the health and condition of our rugby players so they can stay on the field, and when injury strikes; expeditiously and resolutely return to the sport they love. These men have gone beyond the call of their athletic training duties by putting countless hours into the AG Rugby COVID protocol. They are steadfast enforcers of these policies and for that our team is all the more protected.
AG Rugby General Manager Mike Sheehan says, “Colby and Kyle have been invaluable to our team - and really our whole organization over the last six months in navigating this evolving COVID world, and we feel fortunate to have them on our team heading into this season that will be unlike any we’ve ever seen.”
AG Rugby’s Head Athletic Trainer, Colby Thompson, is a charismatic prescience in the clubhouse. He’s earned the trust and respect of both players and staff through an unwavering commitment to his word.
Kyle Lucas is a smooth operator and quick to his feet when a player is in need. Kyle has a passion for rehabbing players back to full health and he’s an active listener which helps him better target and diagnose problems players may be having.
Kyle and Colby are both eager progressives in their field and constantly seek out new practices and technology to provide better care for our players.
Both Colby Thompson and Kyle Lucas are upstanding individuals to have on our team and we appreciate them every day for not only keeping our players healthy but in this unprecedented time; working beyond the call to keep our staff and community healthy too.
