Frank ‘The Tank’ Halai Arrives In Austin

Feb. 20 2020, (AUSTIN, TX) Fresh off Thursday morning’s training session half the team unpacks exercise equipment boxes, while the other half breakdown film with the coaching staff.

In steps a 6’5 231lb Frank Halai.

Introductions are underway, but for Frank ‘The Tank’ not much introduction is necessary. The former All Black has represented his country in both 7s and 15s; earning playing opportunities in professional leagues across the globe.

Halai’s airport chauffeur? Jamie Mackintosh. An equally massive former All Black also signed to the Gilgronis.

Brent Semmons has both men selected for Saturday’s match against Utah, and both will undoubtedly put in shifts constructing the team’s gym.

“We brought in years of experience,” said AG’s coach Brent Semmons. “In high pressure situations it’s those cool headed vets that help steer the ship.”
