Five AG Players Depart For International Duty
Congratulations and Good Luck to our five AG players that are heading overseas on international duty to play for their respective countries. When the AGs head to LA on July 10th to take on the Giltinis they will be without the following five players.
“From a coaching perspective we would obviously love to have our guys for that crucial match with LA, but we know how special it is to play for country, and we want all our players to be able to reach that level,” says AG Head Coach Sam Harris.
Ruben De Haas
The scrumhalf’s time with the AGs has come to an end as he ships off to the United Kingdom to represent the United States. After his tour with the Eagles, Ruben will stay in England and begin his contract with Premiership juggernaut Saracens. “We’ve thanked Ruben for helping our team chase a playoff spot and being an enriching member of our young club,” says AG Head Coach Sam Harris. “We wish him all the best in his international and professional career and who knows, maybe one day we’ll see him in burnt orange once again.”
Bryce Campbell
AG Captain Bryce Campbell has been selected to captain the Eagles on tour to the United Kingdom. Campbell has been a league leader in carries this season and the anchor to the AG’s midfield. His prescience on the pitch and in the clubhouse will be missed on July 10th as the AGs take on LA.
You can watch De Haas and Campbell play LIVE on FloRugby, USA v England on July 4th and USA v Ireland on July 10th!
Marcelo Torrealba
The scrumhalf was called into international duty for his home country Chile a couple weeks ago. He is preparing for the repechage matches and hoping to help Chile qualify for the 2023 Rugby World Cup.
Reegan O’Gorman
In his first season with the AGs, the 25-year-old lock is getting prepared to face Wales on July 3rd and England on July 10th. O’Gorman overcame injury earlier in the season but has provided consistent impact play off the bench over the last three matches. His goal this season was to prove himself as an international ready lock and it looks like he’s done just that!
Cole Davis
Davis narrowly missed out on selection to Canada’s Rugby World Cup squad in 2019, but after a stellar season with the AGs he’s been called up to face Wales and England. Look out for the AG speedster to be a game-breaker for Canada in two weeks.
