Dom Akina Finishes Season With Another Impressive Performance
Dom Akina finished the 2021 season with yet another explosive offensive performance. Against DC, Akina carried the ball eight times for 206 meters; adding a highlight try on the afternoon.
His performance earned him MLR Team of the Week honors for the second time this season.
Akina has been an offensive sparkplug for the AGs when he’s been available this season. His blistering speed is unmatched in the loose forwards through his first two seasons in the MLR. Akina also proved versatile covering both No. 8 and blindside flanker positions on the season.
Akina has proven to be a force to be reckoned with in Major League Rugby this season and should be named to an All-MLR team this offseason.
