Ascension Seton Hometown Hero: Todd Knight, Rock Rugby
Ascension Seton and AG Rugby have launched the Hometown Heroes program to honor community members who never hesitate to show up and help their community. Eight local heroes will be honored during halftime at each AG’s home match at the Bold Stadium.
Todd Knight
The first-ever Ascension Seton Hometown Hero is the late Todd Knight, a man that dedicated his life to family, rugby, and his community. Todd was a Canadian international rugby player and proud coach and mentor to hundreds of youth rugby players in his 10-year coaching tenure with Rock Rugby, right here in Round Rock, Texas. He also was considered one of the best chiropractors in his field and owned and operated his practice alongside his wife Sheri.
Todd Knight is a perfect example of a Hometown Hero for his boundless commitment to service in our community. Todd was a healer by day and a teacher, mentor, and friend by night. His guidance, support and wisdom provided a rich loam to nourish our rugby community.
Todd’s wife Sheri and his two children Kelsie and Reese will receive his Hometown Hero honor at halftime of the AG Rugby Home Opener this Saturday night. AG Christian Ostberg, one of Todd Knight’s former players, will be wearing a special under-shirt to honor his late coach and mentor. “Coach Todd was an incredibly special role model in my life, and I wouldn’t be where I am today without him,” says Ostberg.
Rock Rugby head coach and longtime friend Paul McCartney said, “[Todd] had an extreme talent in coaching the kids and was an unbelievable mentor and father figure to many,” said McCartney. “He gave back to the sport that gave him so much and the rugby world will be at a loss with his departure. He also touched thousands of lives through chiropractic. He was highly successful and one of the best chiropractors in his field.
“Todd will be missed by all, he was bigger than life and a friend to all. His friendships span the world through rugby connections and also the chiropractic community,” -Paul ‘Rock’ McCartney
