AG Selects Team For Second Texas Cup Title Defense

AUSTIN, TX (June 4th, 2021) - It’s Week 11 and the AGs are on the road to take on state-rival Houston Sabercats in the second Texas Cup title defense of the season.

After rattling off four consecutive wins, the AGs have dropped three of their last four. The squad is on the outside of playoff contention looking in, and they’ll need a win this weekend to not only get the team back on the winning track but to hold onto the Texas Cup presented by Karbach Brewing.

AG Head Coach Sam Harris says, “Every time you play a rival you want to come out on top, we know it’s important to our fans to beat Houston and we aim to do that every time we play them.”

Kyle Breytenbach played for the Sabercats last season and fell to the AGs in the first-ever Texas Cup match. This year he’s with the AGs and off to a great start in Austin and looking to defend the cup in his first start in orange. “There’s always that bit of extra fire you have playing against your old team in your old stadium, and on top of that it’s my first start for AG. I’m just excited to defend the Texas Cup with Austin,” Kyle Breytenbach.
