AG Rugby Prepares For Lone Star Clash With Houston Sabercats

This Sunday, AG Rugby takes on a Houston Sabercats team in what will be one of the most anticipated matches of the MLR season. The AGs hold the top spot in the Western Conference and must defeat the Sabercats to hold onto the top spot.

AG Players To Watch Out For

Ryan Louwrens

Louwrens has been one of the exciting new additions to the AGs team this season and earned Man of the Match in back-to-back matches in Weeks 5 and 6. He brings tempo to the AGs attack with a relentless pace from breakdown to breakdown. Louwrens consistently makes one long line break a match and consistently injects energy into the team and home crowd.

Namatahi Waa

Namatahi Waa has been the AG’s anchor in the scrum so far this season. This weekend’s match be his most important performance to date because Houston’s game plan relies heavily on their forward pack and more specifically scrum dominance. Waa will come up against one of the league’s in-form props, Nicolas Solyvera; their matchup will be pivotal to the game’s result.

Cam Dodson

Dodson will certainly look to leave his mark on this match. Dodson lives for a forwards slugfest and seems to always be at his best in the most physical matches. Watch out for Dodson to rack up a sizable tackle count, involve himself heavily in the lineout, and make meters on the ground.
