AG Prepares For August 19th MLR Collegiate Draft

Last off-season, the AGs came away with four of the top collegiate players and each contributed to the club’s turnaround season. Who will be the next Conner Mooneyham and Mason Koch? Stay tuned, the MLR Collegiate Draft is upon us.

AG Head Coach Sam Harris was pleased with the contribution the draftees brought to the squad, “For us, the draft was a huge success,” says Sam Harris.
“We dug through some 400 applicants and settled on a shortlist of guys, and we came away with two draftees and a handful of young guys that made up the best young brigade in the league.”

The AGs took Lui Sitama and Mason Koch in the first two rounds of the draft, then signed Cam Dodson and Sid Shoop after the draft. Then in the Dallas Jackals dispersal draft, the AGs came away with the #1 overall pick in Conner Mooneyham.

As rookies, Koch was the first-ever draftee to earn MLR Player of the Week honors and Mooneyham was selected to the USA Eagles extended squad two months ago. Mooneyham, Koch, and Dodson are all contenders for MLR Rookie of the Year!

This year, the AGs are pouring over the tape of over a hundred potential draftees in the hopes of finding the next MLR superstar in the 2021 MLR Collegiate draft.
