AG Forward Kyle Breytenbach Represents USA In Uruguay

Good luck to our very own Kyle Breytenbach as he suits up in the red, white and blue for the first time tomorrow against Uruguay A in Montevideo.

“KB is not only an incredibly hard worker but a standard-bearer in the AG clubhouse; it was only a matter of time before he would get his shot to represent the USA,” says AG Head Coach Sam Harris. “We’ll be cheering him on here in Austin and we know he’ll do us proud.”

Breytenbach is a local favorite in Austin after helping the Austin Huns win the 2017 Division 1 Club National Championship. In the past four seasons of Major League Rugby, he’s bolstered the Austin Elite, Houston Sabercats, and AG Rugby squads as a workhorse forward.

Over the past three weeks, Breytenbach has trained alongside several young USA Eagle hopefuls in the USA Selects squad. Tomorrow he’ll help the USA Selects defend the National Shield. “There’s a strong sense that this is just the beginning for Kyle Breytenbach’s international career with the United States and we couldn’t be more proud to share in his excitement here in Austin,” says USA Rugby Hall of Famer & AG Rugby Director of Player Personnel Dave Hodges.
